Public Works Department
The Public Works Department is responsible for managing, operating and maintaining the infrastructure found in the Village's right-of-way, including streets, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, traffic signals, traffic signage, street striping, storm sewer drain system, street lights, street sweeping, graffiti removal, trails, landscapes and tree trimming. The Public Works Department is also responsible for general management operation and care of Village facilities as well as maintenance and repair of the Public Works Department vehicle fleet and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Equipment and vehicle maintenance
- Forestry (park and street trees)
- Ice Rink maintenance
- Park buildings, shelters, and playground equipment maintenance
- Park facilities improvements projects
- Park trail maintenance
- Park turf and playfields maintenance
- Plover Cemetery maintenance (shared cost with the Town of Plover)
- Snow and Ice Control (streets and sidewalks)
- Storm sewer, ditch, and pond maintenance
- Street lights and traffic signal maintenance
- Street resurfacing projects
- Street sweeping
- Street and sidewalk snow and ice control
- Street, curb, and sidewalk repair and maintenance
- Traffic signs and markings maintenance
- Weed control and turf maintenance
